Frequently Asked Questions
When choosing a driving school, look for qualified instructors, structured lessons, flexible scheduling, and a strong focus on road safety. Reading genuine reviews and checking the school’s reputation can also help you make an informed decision. Green and Gold Driving School offers personalised training that matches your learning style, helping you build confidence, improve practical skills, and become a safe, responsible driver for life.
The number of lessons depends on your previous experience, confidence, and how quickly you develop your driving abilities. Some learners only need a few refresher sessions, while beginners usually benefit from a structured learning program. A professional instructor will assess your progress throughout your training and recommend when you’re ready for the practical test. The aim is to ensure you feel comfortable and fully prepared before booking your assessment.
Yes. Professional lessons are ideal for beginners and anyone who feels anxious about driving. Training usually starts in quieter environments before gradually introducing more challenging traffic situations as your confidence grows. Patient instruction, clear communication, and regular practice help reduce stress and make learning more enjoyable. Every lesson is designed to help you progress at a pace that suits your individual comfort level.
Many learners choose to take their practical test in the same vehicle they used during training. Being familiar with the car’s controls, handling, and visibility can help you feel more relaxed on test day. Before booking, it’s a good idea to confirm whether vehicle hire is available and what is included. Using a familiar vehicle allows you to focus on your driving rather than adjusting to a different car.
Professional training covers much more than simply learning to operate a vehicle. You’ll develop skills such as parking, lane changing, roundabouts, hazard perception, defensive driving, road awareness, and safe decision-making in different traffic conditions. Lessons are adjusted to your progress, ensuring you gain the practical experience and confidence needed for everyday driving as well as your licence assessment.
While practising with family members is valuable, professional instructors provide structured guidance based on current road rules and proven teaching methods. They can identify unsafe habits early, offer constructive feedback, and introduce techniques that improve both confidence and vehicle control. Combining expert instruction with supervised practice often leads to faster improvement and helps learners develop safer driving habits for the future.
Professional instruction focuses on building lifelong driving habits rather than simply helping you pass the test. You’ll learn how to recognise hazards, respond to changing road conditions, and make safe decisions in everyday situations. These practical skills increase your confidence, reduce the likelihood of accidents, and prepare you to handle different driving environments responsibly throughout your years on the road.
